Sitting on the canal, I love this old Victorian building. The low vaulted brick ceilings supported by cast iron pillars give the Brasserie a fantastic warm, cosy feeling. In summer, an outside area allows you to relax and watch the water flow by. I also fell in love with Leeds, a city rich in history but embracing the modern world without forgetting its roots. The area is rich in fantastic local producers making it nearly too easy to cook. In a lot of ways it reminds me of France, good people eating good food, enjoying themselves. It is always fun when I visit to see such a wide selection of people in the Brasserie: families, business people, lovers and many more. Anyway how could I not love a place where the man who supplies our rhubarb harvests it by night because it improves the taste?.
